Počitelj is a picturesque 16th century town which is being rapidly deserted by its inhabitants. Due to a lack of communication with various levels of government, the families that have lived there for centuries now consist of a few elderly people. The stone walls, cemeteries and the orchards are being swallowed by ivy and bushes.
