Examples of Landscape Activism
In the session on May 10 you will discuss examples of landscape activism from your own contexts. You can share the examples in this section (link, image and/or short explanation).
- Ernesto Velasquez / Activist - Bianca Jagger: Jagger is a social and human rights advocate born in Nicaragua, where she experienced the harsh US-backed military rule of the Somoza family. She has promoted and protected human rights across the globe, advocating for victims of war and poverty and calling for greater environmental protection. She participated in many fact-finding missions, which have taken her to Nicaragua, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, remote rainforests in Brazil and Ecuador, Bosnia, Kosovo, Zambia, Afghanistan, Iraq, India and Pakistan.After witnessing horror in many forms and parts of the world, she committed herself to voice the invisible lives of the most vulnerable segments of society: children, women, indigenous people, victims of sexual abuse, discrimination, mass rapes, oppression, injustice, and ethnic cleansing. Jagger's advocacy work extends beyond human rights. She has been an ardent supporter of environmental causes and has spoken out against climate change and deforestation.In recognition of her extensive activism, Jagger has received numerous awards and honors. She was appointed as a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in 1994 and received the World Citizenship Award from the World Association of Non-Governmental Organizations in 2004. She has also been recognized with honorary degrees from various institutions for her contributions to human rights and social justice.

Ernesto Velasquez / Activist - Bianca Jagger Role Play: As Bianca Jagger in a landscape democracy context it has been a deeply fulfilling experience. Working tirelessly to fight for democratic values, human rights, and environmental justice, collaborating with various organizations, governments, and communities. Believing that a healthy democracy is essential for ensuring justice, equality, and sustainability. Through her advocacy, It strive to inspire others to join the struggle for a more inclusive and just world, where every voice is heard, and every person's rights are respected.

About concept mapping
Before starting the exercise you can read this article by Joseph D. Novak & Alberto J. Cañas about Theory Underlying Concept Maps and How to Construct and Use Them. This paper gives a good explanation of how concept maps are conceived and developed.
You can use any tool you like for producing your concept map. However, since the result needs to be submitted digitally we recommend the following open source software for producing your maps:
