The Araguaia Palace is the symbol of the power in Palmas (state of Tocantins), in Brazil. Palmas is a planned city and it was created in 1989 to be the capital of the state of Tocantins, the newest of Brazil. The Palace is located in the Girassois (sunflower) Square, which is the second largest square in the world and the biggest in the Americas. The palace is located in the center of the square, which is the located in the meeting of the main two axis avenues, the JK Avenue and the Teotonio Segurado Avenue.
