Landscape Democracy Rationale
- Why do you think this community context is relevant from a landscape democracy perspective? What is your hypothesis considering the landscape democracy challenges?

- Briefly introduce us to your community by presenting its location, spatial characteristics, socio-economic characteristics and any known issues/challenges(max 200 signs)

1- Freising is the oldest city in Bavaria with an almost 1300 year history.
- 2- Laying along the Isar River, north-northeast of Munich.
- 3- Originated on hills and it has always provided a multiplicity of historical &
- Modern locations for reflecting on one's own thoughts.
- 4- Contains two hills, the cathedral hill with the bishop's castle and Freising cathedral and weihenstephan Hill with weihenstephan Abbey.''

1- The largest employer in the region is Munich Airport with the companies located near it.
- 2- Deutsche Post AG in Freising operates one
- Of the largest letter branches in Bavaria.
- 3- Texas Instruments company which manufactures brewery systems in Bavaria. Today, more than 1,000 employees work at
- The European headquarters in Freising.
- 4- Volkswagen built a training and qualification center for sales and service in the Munich and Bavaria area in Freising.
- 5- Bavarian State Brewery Weihenstephan ,
- The oldest brewery in the world (since 1040)
- And still working till now.
- 6- Almost all famous banks in Germany have
- Their branches in Freising especially in the
- Old downtown district .
- 7- There are more than 134 farms in Freising
- That managed 4,154 hectares of land. The
- Area was distributed over third of grassland
- And two thirds of arable land.
- 8- The rest of the area (surrounding the city)
- Was mainly used for fodder crops. Besides
- Animal husbandry (cattle & chicken) farming.
- 9- A lot of conferences organized between the Prince-Bishop’s residence on the Domberg and the Weihenstephan campus.''
