Variante di Mirandola: positive and negative aspects

Rationale: Why have you chosen this case for the landscape and democracy seminar?

Why is this case relevant?
The Variante di Mirandola is an alternative to a portion of the Strada Statale 12 -road that connect Modena to the border with Austria. It is a new road (2012) built even the disagreement of large part of citizen. The variant is a facultative road that avoid the trucks, traveller and also the dwellers to cross Mirandola -my hometown- reducing the travel time and the traffic in the city centre. The main habitant objection was about the position of this street. Infact the project would not care from the beginning to cut in half fields, private properties and also other streets.
