  Nürtingen, a city with about 42000 inhabitants is located at the foot of the Swabian Alb, 30 km in the south east of Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg. The landscape of Nürtingen is characterized by forestry, agriculture, orchard meadows, rivers and creeks and timbered buildings. Some of these landscapes are protected areas

  The Steinach river is the border between industrial and residential area. Industrial workers use the green space along the river to take a break. Residents use the unused green spaces as a garden. Some private gardens and properties are located next to the river.
