The landscape symbol I have chosen is seen in the first picture (a). The symbol is the newly built footbridge connecting the park and the district. This is not only a symbol of easy access to the park, but the intimate connection of the new district and park implies issues of social class. In the new district prices are high, thus making the whole new area almost exclusively middle and upper-middle class. With the close proximity to the park, this newly built bridge is an important symbol that represents the free-access to an unique landscape that those that can afford the prices in the new city will have.

To end, the footbridge is the key symbol here. However, the new city landscape in relation to the park is also very important. The bridge is however one of the symbols that can tell about the relations between these two and the rest of the society.

I live in close proximity to the big city project Stockholm Royal Seaport where the city of Stockholm is aiming to build 12.000 apartments. This new city district borders the National City Park, a huge 27 square kilometre park with a lot of cultural, royal and natural history. The park is represented in picture (d) and also seen from pictures (b) and (c), with the park in the background.
