1. The original church from the Middle Ages was demolished in the early 1900s and a new church was built. Today's church is a visible landmark and landscape symbol on top of what is one of the two hills in Ås. The old Royal Road is west of the church.

2. In fact I have not been aware of this monument before, but it looks like a monument from WWII. The monument is located in the center of Ås close to what used to be the former administration center.

3. A newer symbols as frequently seen in Ås because of the large developments are excavators and large cranes. Perhaps a somewhat more controversial landscape symbol, but nevertheless a symbol of development and change.

4. Ås Kinoteater has long been one of the few meeting places in Ås. It is about to close due to insufficient visits and has recently begun to notice a greater use. It is clear that the movie theater matters to Ås' residents.
