There are numerous interesting tools which planners and designers can use them to encourage the public to engage in planning process such as, visual art techniques, storytelling, social-networking technology, exhibits, music, festivals and community gathering. A multiple of available tool options gives public the opportunity to find the most appropriate method of involvement for them. In addition, these creative tools or methods can increase the stakeholder’s involvement. These approaches can help the planners to achieve economic, social, environmental goals.
As a matter of fact, who knows the community better than people who live there? Therefore, participation can point out quickly that you will need to face certain issues, options or opportunities throughout the planning or decision making process.
We should remember we can learn from participation successes and failures to expand and improve participation practice in next projects in the future.
Public participation cannot undertaken lightly. Expectations maybe unrealistically raised undertaken lightly. Expectations maybe unrealistically raised unless government is clear from the outset about what exactly is being sought and what weight it will place on the input it receives. Good public participation practice therefore begins by making the objectives clear in advance, and by letting the participants know how their input will be factored into the final decision.

According to the Beheshtabad project, it was planned to transfer 500 million cubic meters water of this river (one of the Karun’s branch) to three other central provinces. The project includes 65 km tunnel which has been drilled in depth of 300-500 meters. In fact, all the transferring water projects were implemented to fetch drinking supply. Because the supply of drinking water is a good excuse to convince public opinion that the government has to do to provide drinking water. Therefore, the demand for drinking water cannot be objected. While it seems Beheshtabad water is planned for agriculture and industrial aims.
The main goal of this project is to provide the agriculture and industrial water of the three other states, while in many areas in this state, people are suffering from the lake of drinking water. The project started more than 5 years ago. However, in the destination of the tunnel the construction of equipped workshops had been begun, in the source part in Chaharmahal va Bakhtiari the construction has been halted due to the protests. Local people with the support of provincial authorities protested against the project. Consequently, the government decided to postpone the project.

One of the major challenges for this project is that by constructing these tunnels, aquifers in the direction of the tunnels will be damaged and endangered people’s settlement, which can cause serious damages to agricultural lands and therefore these fields will be dried in the future.
On the other hand, this plan can decrease the amount of flowing water to the Karun River, which can cause the similar problems for the Khuzestan province. Moreover, people in Khuzestan faced the shortage of drinking water, which in this situation constructing such a project can make the living’s condition even worse.
Another goal of this project was to revive the Zayanderood (in Isfahan), which is not a good solution to revive another area by making this high percent of risk and environmental damages to another area.
This project not only will not help the Zayanderood but also it will create irreparably economical, social and environmental damages.

People and authorities do not oppose the construction of dams or transferring the extra water to provide drinking water. But they disagree to unprofessional solutions or projects to transfer the water which can cause economical, social and environmental damages.
Then, government can consider the human justify and preserve the environment for the future, by providing the appropriate research and using professional experts to find the reasonable solutions.

According to the Beheshtabad project, it was planned to transfer 500 million cubic meters water of this river (one of the Karun’s branch) to three other central provinces. The project includes 65 km tunnel which has been drilled in depth of 300-500 meters. In fact, all the transferring water projects were implemented to fetch drinking supply. Because the supply of drinking water is a good excuse to convince public opinion that the government has to do to provide drinking water. Therefore, the demand for drinking water cannot be objected. While it seems Beheshtabad water is planned for agriculture and industrial aims.
The main goal of this project is to provide the agriculture and industrial water of the three other states, while in many areas in this state, people are suffering from the lake of drinking water. The project started more than 5 years ago. However, in the destination of the tunnel the construction of equipped workshops had been begun, in the source part in Chaharmahal va Bakhtiari the construction has been halted due to the protests. Local people with the support of provincial authorities protested against the project. Consequently, the government decided to postpone the project.

One of the major challenges for this project is that by constructing these tunnels, aquifers in the direction of the tunnels will be damaged and endangered people’s settlement, which can cause serious damages to agricultural lands and therefore these fields will be dried in the future.
On the other hand, this plan can decrease the amount of flowing water to the Karun River, which can cause the similar problems for the Khuzestan province. Moreover, people in Khuzestan faced the shortage of drinking water, which in this situation constructing such a project can make the living’s condition even worse.
Another goal of this project was to revive the Zayanderood (in Isfahan), which is not a good solution to revive another area by making this high percent of risk and environmental damages to another area.
This project not only will not help the Zayanderood but also it will create irreparably economical, social and environmental damages.

However, in the destination of the tunnel the construction of equipped workshops had been begun, in the source part in Chaharmahal va Bakhtiari the construction has been halted due to the protests. Local people with the support of provincial authorities protested against the project. Consequently, the government decided to postpone the project.

One of the major challenges for this project is that by constructing these tunnels, aquifers in the direction of the tunnels will be damaged and endangered people’s settlement, which can cause serious damages to agricultural lands and therefore these fields will be dried in the future.
On the other hand, this plan can decrease the amount of flowing water to the Karun River, which can cause the similar problems for the Khuzestan province. Moreover, people in Khuzestan faced the shortage of drinking water, which in this situation constructing such a project can make the living’s condition even worse.
Another goal of this project was to revive the Zayanderood (in Isfahan), which is not a good solution to revive another area by making this high percent of risk and environmental damages to another area.
This project not only will not help the Zayanderood but also it will create irreparably economical, social and environmental damages.

According to the Beheshtabad project, it was planned to transfer 500 million cubic meters water of this river (one of the Karun’s branch) to three other central provinces. The project includes 65 km tunnel which has been drilled in depth of 300-500 meters. In fact, all the transferring water projects were implemented to fetch drinking supply. Because the supply of drinking water is a good excuse to convince public opinion that the government has to do to provide drinking water. Therefore, the demand for drinking water cannot be objected. While it seems Beheshtabad water is planned for agriculture and industrial aims.
The main goal of this project is to provide the agriculture and industrial water of the three other states, while in many areas in this state, people are suffering from the lake of drinking water. The project started more than 5 years ago. However, in the destination of the tunnel the construction of equipped workshops had been begun, in the source part in Chaharmahal va Bakhtiari the construction has been halted due to the protests. Local people with the support of provincial authorities protested against the project. Consequently, the government decided to postpone the project.

One of the major challenges for this project is that by constructing these tunnels, aquifers in the direction of the tunnels will be damaged and endangered people’s settlement, which can cause serious damages to agricultural lands and therefore these fields will be dried in the future.
On the other hand, this plan can decrease the amount of flowing water to the Karun River, which can cause the similar problems for the Khuzestan province. Moreover, people in Khuzestan faced the shortage of drinking water, which in this situation constructing such a project can make the living’s condition even worse.
Another goal of this project was to revive the Zayanderood (in Isfahan), which is not a good solution to revive another area by making this high percent of risk and environmental damages to another area.
This project not only will not help the Zayanderood but also it will create irreparably economical, social and environmental damages.

On the other hand, this plan can decrease the amount of flowing water to the Karun River, which can cause the similar problems for the Khuzestan province. Moreover, people in Khuzestan faced the shortage of drinking water, which in this situation constructing such a project can make the living’s condition even worse.
Another goal of this project was to revive the Zayanderood (in Isfahan), which is not a good solution to revive another area by making this high percent of risk and environmental damages to another area.
This project not only will not help the Zayanderood but also it will create irreparably economical, social and environmental damages.

''The symbol is human made, with high presicion and classical aesthetics. It's in the middle of a popular and busy square. It's very big, and attrackts lots of attention. It's made for decoration and usage - it's nice to look at, but people are also sitting on it.

The reason why I chose this symbol, is because I read an article about it, and this changed my view on items like this in a community. The article was about the square and different groups of people who used different parts of the square as meeting places. One group of elderly people used this monument as a meeting place almost every day of the year. Many of them had worked at sea, and identified strongly with the monument. At some point the area around it was closed off because of renovation, and the article described how these people where cut off from their daily social gathering, and how this effected their lives in a negative way, and how they struggled with suddenly having no place to meet old and new friends.

This story made me realize how important such monuments can be for identity, and for the social life. It's also a good place to hang out for everyone, not just those who directly identify with the theme of the monument (seafarers, etc.) ''

Tehran has two old and new towers as symbols of the city. There has been always a contrast between these two towers to be accepted by people as the most outstanding symbol of the city.
Azadi tower is a monument located at Azadi square, in Tehran. It is one of the symbols of Tehran and marks the west entrance of the city. In 1966, an Iranian architect won a competition of designing the Iranian landmark. this tower formerly known as the Shahyad tower("King Memorial Tower" in honor of the Shah). But after revolution, in 1979, the name was changed to Azadi("Freedom"). During revolution, many protests have been taken place around this tower. Recently, after the tenth presidential election in Iran, Azadi square was the gathering place for protesters against the election's result.
Milad Tower also known as the Tehran tower is a multi-purpose tower in Tehran. It is the sixth tallest concrete tower in the world. the tower is part of a complex called International Trade and Convention center of Tehran.
The tower was first proposed as part of the " Shahestan Pahlavi" project before revolution. After 1979 revolution the project was cancelled.
In 2008, Milad tower with the aim of building a memorable structure as a symbol for the city of Tehran and to meet the needs of telecom and television has been built. These days, this tower attracts many local people and tourists who want to see the Tehran from a higher point and are interested in museums , concerts, shopping and other attractions around this tower.
Based on recent questionnaire, it showed majority of the citizens have introduced the Azadi tower as a symbol of Tehran.

Tehran has two old and new towers as symbols of the city. There has been always a contrast between these two towers to be accepted by people as the most outstanding symbol of the city.
Azadi tower is a monument located at Azadi square, in Tehran. It is one of the symbols of Tehran and marks the west entrance of the city. In 1966, an Iranian architect won a competition of designing the Iranian landmark. this tower formerly known as the Shahyad tower("King Memorial Tower" in honor of the Shah). But after revolution, in 1979, the name was changed to Azadi("Freedom"). During revolution, many protests have been taken place around this tower. Recently, after the tenth presidential election in Iran, Azadi square was the gathering place for protesters against the election's result.
Milad Tower also known as the Tehran tower is a multi-purpose tower in Tehran. It is the sixth tallest concrete tower in the world. the tower is part of a complex called International Trade and Convention center of Tehran.

In 2008, Milad tower with the aim of building a memorable structure as a symbol for the city of Tehran and to meet the needs of telecom and television has been built. Based on recent questionnaire, it showed majority of the citizens have introduced the Azadi tower as a symbol of Tehran.

''The symbol is human made, with high presicion and classical aesthetics. It's in the middle of a popular and busy square. It's very big, and attrackts lots of attention. It's made for decoration and usage - it's nice to look at, but people are also sitting on it.

The reason why I chose this symbol, is because I read an article about it, and this changed my view on items like this in a community. The article was about the square and different groups of people who used different parts of the square as meeting places. One group of elderly people used this monument as a meeting place almost every day of the year. Many of them had worked at sea, and identified strongly with the monument.
