*Alin Cezar Vintila - In my role with the Logistics Department at Constanța City Hall, I focus on the practical side of municipal operations. My Master's in Public Sector Management and my degree in Maritime Transport give me a unique viewpoint, especially for a port city like ours. I look forward to learning from the specialists and helping the team succeed.
*Tobiloba Akibo: I have a first degree in Architecture from Covenant University, and a Masters in Landscape Architecture from University of Lagos, I have specific interest in exploring historic landscape preservation and the evolution of landscape architecture styles within open spaces in pre and post-colonial Nigeria. I am currently practising in Lagos Nigeria, I speak English, Yoruba and I am currently learning French.
*Sahra Rahmani: I have a Bachelor's degree in Architecture and a Master's degree in Urban Design from Iran, and I am currently studying Master of Landscape Architecture (IMLA) in Germany. I am interested in public spaces and enhancing their spatial quality. Additionally, I have an interest in the historical studies of world architecture.
*Joel Izombo Tulengi: Student at the 5th year of Engineering and architecture in university of Bologna (UNIBO). I am interestend in the design of public spaces and and the general healthy life combine with architecture. I have interest in exploring multiculturale architecture around the world.
== Readings, concepts and definitions ==
*Start: April 3, 2024
*Due: July 2, 2024

While working in your group, please start to express your personal understanding of the relation of landscape and democracy in the form of a concept map with linking words or any other diagrammatic representation. Please make your maps very visual and not just verbal. Think critically about why one map differs from another.

The final product is a '''shared concept map''' that integrates the various understandings present within your team.

=== About concept mapping ===

Before starting the exercise you can read this article by Joseph D. Novak & Alberto J. Cañas about [http://cmap.ihmc.us/Publications/ResearchPapers/TheoryCmaps/TheoryUnderlyingConceptMaps.htm Theory Underlying Concept Maps and How to Construct and Use Them]. This paper gives a good explanation of how concept maps are conceived and developed.

You can use any tool you like for producing your concept map. However, since the result needs to be submitted digitally we recommend the following open source software for producing your maps:
* [http://cmap.ihmc.us Cmap Tools] >>> you can also work with your group on the Cmap cloud doing a shared map
* [http://vue.tufts.edu VUE - The Visual Understanding Environment]
* Use a '''shared whiteboard''' to develop your integrated concept map, such as [http://miro.com/ MIRO] or [http://mural.co/ MURAL]

=== How to present your concept maps ===
* Possible format: JPG (for wiki upload) or link to any other resource
* We give you below a draft image gallery where you can add pictures of your map (in JPG or PNG format)
* You can present your integrated understanding as one concept map '''or''' your present individual ones '''and''' the integrated one.
* add as many additional materials as you need

===Overview of your concept maps (individual and integrated)===

== Please finish with a short reflection ==
* What are the similarities and differences in your team regarding your understanding of what democratic landscape transformation is? Our team agrees that democratic landscape transformation means involving the community in designing public spaces. We all believe it should be fair, accessible, and transparent. Some team members focus more on environmental sustainability, while others prioritize social justice. We also have different views on how much influence the public should have on final decisions.
* In how far did the seminar lectures and readings help you to clarify this? The seminar lectures and readings helped us understand democratic landscape transformation better. They provided theory, examples, and practical strategies, making it clear how to balance community needs, sustainability, and fairness.
* What will you take home from this seminar? From this seminar, we will take home a better understanding of how to involve the community in landscape design. We learned the importance of being inclusive, transparent, and fair, and these lessons will guide our future projects.

=== How to present your concept maps ===
* Possible format: JPG (for wiki upload) or link to any other resource
*Alin Cezar Vintila - I work for the Logistics Department of Constanta City Hall. I have degree in Navigation and Maritime Transport and recently I completed a 2 years Master in Public Sector Management. I will do my best to help the team.

=== About concept mapping ===

Before starting the exercise you can read this article by Joseph D. Novak & Alberto J.

After inspecting the entire zone, I focused on the intersection of Remus Opreanu and Revoluția din 22 Decembrie 1989, which has the geometry and characteristics of a town square.
Current situation:
● Cars were parked close to the buildings, leaving no space for pedestrians to walk safely.
● The speed of the cars often exceeded the limit.
● There was no clear demarcation between the walking space
and the driving/parking space.
● Drivers often made their own rules, parking parallel or at an
angle.
● A temporary fence along the Direcția Agricolă encroached on
pedestrian space.

Future Interventions:
● Installing a line of tree pots on both sides of Remus Opreanu and Revoluția din 22 Decembrie 1989 to create a safe walking path between the trees and the buildings.
● The trees will provide shade for both pedestrians and buildings and help reduce CO2 levels in the area.
● Implementing a park-and-ride system using the three parking spaces adjacent to the Peninsula, and providing bicycles and electric public transport to connect the parking areas with the Peninsula.

=== About concept mapping ===
