File:Wadi Rum.JPG|Wadi Rum also known as the Valley of the Moon, is a valley cut into the sandstone and granite rock in southern Jordan. It has been inhabited by many cultures since prehistoric times including the Nabateans. It is inhabited by the Zalabia Bedouins who, working with climbers and trekkers, have made a success of developing eco-adventure tourism. The area is now one of Jordan's most important tourist attractions including camping under the stars, riding Arab horses, hiking and rock-climbing among the massive rock formations. Image:Piazza San Francesco Bologna.jpg|Recently renovated, this square is named Piazza San Francesco and it was built in XIII century thanks to St. Francis of Assisi. In the city center of my hometown, Bologna, unfortunately there aren’t many gardens and parks, but they’re replaced by squares, like this one. Especially during spring and summer, this place is crowded with young people and children seated on the floor or on the benches. During some public holidays, concerts and food stands completely fill the square.
Image:Porticoes of Bologna.jpeg|The main symbols of my city are definitely the 40 kilometers of porticoes that cover all the historical center. In medieval age, they were built to increase the areas of the apartment over them, and to create a cover for the shops below. Today they are a protection for the people walking through them from the bad weather or the hot sun of the summer, but also from the car’s roads. There are many shops, cafes, restaurants or galleries from one side, but from the other side it’s possible to see how the urban landscape changes during the walk. Porticoes are a network that give to the walker a sense of continuity, protection and identity.

File:Rathaus.png|City_Hall_Caroline_Fischer_photovoice1|It is the city hall of Zizishausen which is now a part of Nürtingen. But the existence of the city hall in the centre means that Zizishausen was autonom until 1974.
File:Alb.png|This is the northern end of the Swabian Mountains. The significant steep inclination is the result of geology and erosion for hundreds of years. Through the specific locational condotion a lot of rare plants and insects live here, so parts of the area are protected by law. This typical formation allows people to identify themselves with their rural home.
File:appletree.png|Quite typical as well is fruit growing with meadows below. It's a cultural heritage auf the region, as these areas are too steep and wet for regular farming. You can see plantages in all sizes which are close to the towns and used extensively. Mainly apple trees were planted but also cherry and damson trees. Today it is big challenge to maintain these ancient form of usage as the owners get older in order to preserve the various habitats and the history of the landscape.

In the city center of my hometown, Bologna, unfortunately there aren’t many gardens and parks, but they’re replaced by squares, like this one. Especially during spring and summer, this place is crowded with young people and children seated on the floor or on the benches. During some public holidays, concerts and food stands completely fill the square.

In medieval age, they were built to increase the areas of the apartment over them, and to create a cover for the shops below. Today they are a protection for the people walking through them from the bad weather or the hot sun of the summer, but also from the car’s roads. There are many shops, cafes, restaurants or galleries from one side, but from the other side it’s possible to see how the urban landscape changes during the walk. Porticoes are a network that give to the walker a sense of continuity, protection and identity.

In the city center of my hometown, Bologna, unfortunately there aren’t many gardens and parks, but they’re replaced by squares, like this one. Especially during spring and summer, this place is crowded with young people and children seated on the floor or on the benches. During some public holidays, concerts and food stands completely fill the square.

In medieval age, they were built to increase the areas of the apartment over them, and to create a cover for the shops below. Today they are a protection for the people walking through them from the bad weather or the hot sun of the summer, but also from the car’s roads. There are many shops, cafes, restaurants or galleries from one side, but from the other side it’s possible to see how the urban landscape changes during the walk. Image:Piazza San Francesco Bologna.jpg|Recently renovated, this square is named Piazza San Francesco and it was built in XIII century thanks to St. Francis of Assisi. In the city center of my hometown, Bologna, unfortunately there aren’t many gardens and parks, but they’re replaced by squares, like this one. Especially during spring and summer, this place is crowded with young people and children seated on the floor or on the benches. During some public holidays, concerts and food stands completely fill the square.
Image:Porticoes of Bologna.jpeg|The main symbols of my city are definitely the 40 kilometers of porticoes that cover all the historical center. In medieval age, they were built to increase the areas of the apartment over them, and to create a cover for the shops below. Today they are a protection for the people walking through them from the bad weather or the hot sun of the summer, but also from the car’s roads. There are many shops, cafes, restaurants or galleries from one side, but from the other side it’s possible to see how the urban landscape changes during the walk. Porticoes are a network that give to the walker a sense of continuity, protection and identity.

<Non-material landscapes- The Feast of the Holy Forty Martyrs takes place every year on 22 March, honouring the fourth-century martyrs of Sebaste and marking the first day of spring. Participants gather on the streets and in the squares of Štip, and then hike up the Isar hill, stopping en route at the church to pay tribute to the Holy Forty Martyrs. During the climb – according to tradition – the participants must greet forty acquaintances and gather forty pebbles as well as forty flowers or twigs from the almond trees that grow nearby. On reaching the top, the participants make wishes and throw thirty-nine pebbles into the Bregalnica River below. The remaining pebble is kept and placed under the pillow before going to sleep. >

The non-material landscape symbols- The Feast of the Holy Forty Martyrs takes place every year on 22 March,in Stip, Macedonia, honouring the fourth-century martyrs of Sebaste and marking the first day of spring. Participants gather on the streets and in the squares of Štip, and then hike up the Isar hill, stopping en route at the church to pay tribute to the Holy Forty Martyrs. During the climb – according to tradition – the participants must greet forty acquaintances and gather forty pebbles as well as forty flowers or twigs from the almond trees that grow nearby. On reaching the top, the participants make wishes and throw thirty-nine pebbles into the Bregalnica River below. The remaining pebble is kept and placed under the pillow before going to sleep.

Staring with the social housing building blocks which evoked love, through fast development evoking resistance, uniting the communities with nature to protect the land, all the way to the fridge and monitor graveyards which would evoke democracy in artificial intelligency in the enxt 1000 years. The manufesto is the humans (and artificial intelligence) is that we should work together, include everyone is our landscapes, listen to eachother, discuss, colaborate, negotiate, connect and exchange ideas to gather momentum, be considerate, rethink, repair, reuse.. The manufesto is to connect the landcsape and people through democracy.

Due to this accident the north bank of dighi got openness and managed to get an attention of the concerned citizen and show its huge possibility to become a public spaces. In that time some concern citizen along with professionals (Architect and urban planner) raised their voice and tried to make this space as a public space. Nevertheless, this shops owned by influential locals and they managed to rebuild the shops again and the authority plays a silent role. '''The readings in group C, portraits a series of analysis of the different definitions of landscape and the way it is reflected through the roles of images. From natural, habitat, a system or the aesthetic, the beautiful or an ugly, the landscape is seen due to values and interests we share as an individual or as a group. In the eyes of a child, the landscape is always beautiful. What is the role of the man and the role of the designer in a landscape? Where are both involved?

My architectural philosophy? Bring the community into process. This is a Ted presentation by architect Alejandre Aravena. Here he talks about power of design synthesis and involved people in design process. Public participation on landscape decision making. And main highlighting methods is Larry Halprin RSVP cycle. Halprin followed process oriented method not thing oriented.

Randolph also shed light on evaluation of participatory design process which has 7 criteria: democratic process, community consideration, environmental justice, learning opportunities, power distribution, ecological considerations and design outcomes.

Landscape as Ecology- the mankind should be integrated and the structures as landscape ecology; culture structure landscapes. The cinematic real landscapes show the hurricane Katerina, and its moral questions on natural and man-built environments?

This convention is adopted by the committee of minister of the council of Europe .They works on protection of landscape and promote awareness, provide training and education, set policies and implement them. They focus on sustainable development of social needs, economy and environment.
This convention also encourage public participation on landscape decision. The coming of globalization and advance technology versus the replacement of the social and political, men with the private man; which in their own right create individualistic landscape.

In this context the city (in global context) is too small for the problem; and in individual context the problem is too small for the city. There are reasoning theories, talking about new planning structures and the intelligibility explaining on how the new inhabitant of Zwischenstadt would have new social ties (not traditional family and friends, rather as individual); flexible working hours; multidisciplinary and with a holistic approach; the place with new identity to strengthen participation as a new relationship for culture and politics; the landscape of segregation, and the raising of the individual as a class disintegration, opportunities equal for everyone.'''

'''The reading in group C, portraits a series of analyzing the different definitions of landscape and the way its reflected through the roles of images. In the eyes of a child, the landscape is always beautiful. What is the role of the man and the role of the designer in a landscape? Where are both involved?

My architectural philosophy? Bring the community into process. This is a Ted presentation by architect Alejandre Aravena. Here he talks about power of design synthesis and involved people in design process. Public participation on landscape decision making. And main highlighting methods is Larry Halprin RSVP cycle. Halprin followed process oriented method not thing oriented.

Randolph also shed light on evaluation of participatory design process which has 7 criteria: democratic process, community consideration, environmental justice, learning opportunities, power distribution, ecological considerations and design outcomes.

In this context the city (in global context) is too small for the problem; and in individual context the problem is too small for the city. There are reasoning theories, talking about new planning structures and the intelligibility explaining on how the new inhabitant of Zwischenstadt would have new social ties (not traditional family and friends, rather as individual); flexible working hours; multidisciplinary and with a holistic approach; the place with new identity to strengthen participation as a new relationship for culture and politics; the landscape of segregation, and the raising of the individual as a class disintegration, opportunities equal for everyone.'''

This is not about Residents against Demolition or anti-development movement to prevent progress, but a meaningful conversation about the impact of political decisions and the impact of privatising public land (change of ownership). How does a change affect the future of the city in relation to the Right to the city.
A well located Carpenters Estate is adjacent to the Olympic development site, Stratford International Rail Station, and Stratford City Westfield Shopping District.
This story is about the offloading public assets, shifting wealth, and the links of this movement to the global movement of the Right to the City. How do they all affect eachother? Could the community protect the ownership of public land? What are the options here?
In conversation with the Local Tenants Association, called CARP in 2012, now known as Greater Carpenters Neighbourhood Forum, we further research we listen how does the community perceive the whole situation. In a supported interview document, I have included the original conversation with the former chair of the CARP.

An email sent to 110 residents of Carpenters Estate stated the matter in which they would be addressed for the purposes of getting the full story in perspective. One person responded, it was the ex-chair of the tenants association, a contact which I found in my inbox from our previous correspondence back in 2012.

I have now been looking into the Global movement of the Right to the City and reading various articles which relate to the movement, to find on ground level a warm-hearted relation to the notion of social movement emerging through the cities around the world which challenges the quality of urban life in broader context. A movement for local residents and businesses whom have gather to protect the community assets and challenge the means of public land and further use of existing urban fabric.

The Estate was build 1968 and Tenants Management was established in 1997. 2004, announcement for demolishing one of the towers James Riley Point and decantation of tenants. In 2005, London wins the bid for the Olympic, and between 2005-09 Three Masterplans are presented to increase density of the site from 75 units per ha to 220 units per ha. In 2010 stakeholder workshops and public meetings are organised by the Newham Council.

The GCNF (Greater Carpenters Neighbourhood Forum) story is slightly different starting with Management of their properties, the right to buy the council flats, organising the local tenants against demolition through to protecting the local community assets, and forming a Neighbourhood Forum to complying with London and Local Plan and the Planning and Community Policies. The local authorities have not shown any interest in working together with the community of the estate.

The phone rang five minutes after I sent the email to the CARP residents group (Carpenters Against Regeneration Plan) which caught me off guard to start a conversation.

Initially, the voice on the phone said: Well, a lot happened since 2012, and as you remember we worked with Just Space and LTF(London Tenants Forum) and still working with them now, but we are no longer called CARP, but Greater Carpenters Neighbourhood Forum; and I am not involved as much these days. I am tired. I still go to the meetings but other people have taken over the role of the plan. We are currently working with residents, so it complies with the London Plan, The Olympic Legacy and London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC) as the local planning authority; and suspiciously adds ‘apparently the policies of our activities are already in our Local Plan.’

I ask: ‘What does it mean?’; he says ‘I guess we have won’; I say: ‘Won against Who?’ He said: ‘Well the developer has run out of money and they could not finish the projects they started (a French company) and now they could not demolish the buildings, so we are allowed to start a community-led plan to refurbish the towers and the lower-rise,’

Q: ‘Are you trying to get the Neighbourhood Plan together to protect public assets and remain as a social housing from becoming extinct and relating the global movement of The Right to the City?’

A: We are not trying to save the world, we are keeping it low, focus on the immediate area. We are not challenging any politics actually none of us are interested in that side.

Q: Are the local authorities working together with you?

A: They are not working with us, but they are the owner of the land. Well actually they are not the freeholder, they are Custodian, which means they should also follow policies, housing laws and have to justify their intentions; and they do not have the right to undermine human or legal rights of the local residents.

Q: Are you trying to protect the Social Housing?

A: Well, we compromise, as there is not enough motif. It should fall under affordable housing and the council's ability to offload social housing.

Q: Are the buildings fully occupied?

A: The low rise is fully occupied, the blocks are there, they are just stagnant.

Q: What is the plan?

A: The plan is to keep it as it is and refurbish the blocks and add few floors to the low rise, but most of the people living in our neighbourhood do not want to be involved, they do not even like talking about it, they are ignorant, they refuse to get connected, and the system capitalises on it.

*''Looking at the boundary if the Carpenters Estate, as a former industrial area, there are possible opportunities of development of brownfield land, but also the public spaces around the estate. The density of the former estate was 75 units per ha, and the proposed development for the site has increased density 220units per ha. Why do people decide to move here? This is a site that was selected and appointed for building the Olympic Facilities back in 2005, and since then Westfield Shopping Centre, one of the biggest shopping zones in London has been built, as well Stratford Internation,Eurostar London-Paris; and Stratford- Stanstead; and Stratford-City Airport, good international connectivity, attractive for city workers on high income. However, the Carpenters Estate had predominantly residents on low-income and the decantation started, for the purpose of displacing the current residents. Owners were offered basic deals, in shining leather folders, 10 times less the value of the land at the time. This is what the authorities had to offer the public, consultation in how they would be moved elsewhere; due to the regeneration plan and demand for more housing. My interest in the site comes from analysing boundaries, and ownership.Watching how those boundaries and ownership are shifting and changing due to the regeneration. The change is structure of local authorities, new local authorities in place, like the London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC), change in ownership of community assets and what does it mean? change of management for the site and shifting of public funds; changes in local policies- neighbourhood forum. How much of these future changes are affecting the current community, are they empowering? do they at all benefit the current communities? ''
